Legislative Leaders Not On Board With Paterson Cuts

State legislative leaders Oct. 29 gave Governor Paterson a tepid commitment to produce budget reductions, with Senate Democratic Conference Leader John Sampson objecting to cuts in areas like education at a leaders meeting called by the Governor to stave off a crisis as the mid-year deficit may balloon as high as $4 billion.
