TWU Delivered on Pact
      To the Editor: Steve Downs, John Samuelsen and Co. are wrong again. They said transit workers would get regional bus, OPTO and no raise. They are wrongwrong wrong. No matter how they try to spin it, this contract delivered what we said it would.

Another Zero for Roger
      To the Editor: Another contract done by Roger Toussaint starts out with a zero. Once again transit workers have to fund their own contract. All transit workers had their retro cut in half by receiving a 2-percent raise initially instead of a 4-percent and on top of that losing three months of 2009/2010 at 0 percent.

      To the Editor: I am writing in regards to the recent arbitration decision on the contract for MTA New York City Transit and TWU Local 100 members. I hope people do the math and see how the raises are laid out and see who is really making out.

DC 37's Risky Gamble
      To the Editor: Regarding the Aug. 21 editorial, "DC 37's Message to Mayor," I find some major problems in logic. "If we got layoffs (already), what kind of retaliation can we have?" District Council 37 Executive Director Lillian Roberts stated.

FDNY Social Promotion
      To the Editor: This is an open letter, written in response to U.S. District Judge Nicholas Garaufis's decision that the 1999 and 2002 written NYC Firefighter exams discriminated against minorities. This decision is in response to the lawsuit brought against the city by the U.S. Justice Department and the Vulcan Society, the fraternal organization of black firefighters.

      To the Editor: Things are getting interesting around the NYPD. Bill Bratton is moving back to New York City, and he's not shy about wanting the job of Police Commissioner for the second time.
