SETTING AN EARLY EXAMPLE: Fire Commissioner Nicholas Scoppetta swears in five-year-old Thalique Garay Aug. 12 as a "Junior Paramedic" who quickly called 911 after his pregnant mother, Jennifer Garay (right) became unconscious and unresponsive from severe dehydration earlier this month. 'He did an amazing job and sets an excellent example for how every young person should act in an emergency, when seconds count,' Mr. Scoppetta said during the ceremony at the FDNY's downtown Brooklyn headquarters, where he played the boy's 911 call.
