100-Year Association To Cite Bloomberg At Nov. 19 Dinner
Mayor Bloomberg will become the fourth Mayor to receive the top award of the Hundred Year Association of New York at its annual dinner and fundraiser Nov. 19 in Manhattan.

He will join Fiorello La Guardia, Robert F. Wagner and Rudy Giuliani as the top city officials who received what is now known as the Richard A. Cook Gold Medal, named in memory of the association's longtime director. The organization consists of businesses that have operated here for at least a century.

Rodgers, Hammerstein and Kelly

The award is conferred upon those who have made outstanding contributions to the city, and its 74 previous recipients are as diverse as the Broadway songwriters Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein, Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly, and three generations of Rockefellers.

Mr. Bloomberg is being honored for "his philanthropic generosity, his strong sense of civic responsibility, and his considerable accomplishments as a public servant," the Hundred Year Association said in a statement.

The dinner will be held at Capitale, located at 130 Bowery. For further information, call the association at (212) 922-0791 or visit its Web site at www.100yearassociation.com.
