Fireman Arrested For Getting Paid During Nonexistent Therapy Firefighter John Dimino was charged with falsely logging, between August 2007 and February 2008, that he was going to physical therapy, and collected $7,500 for excused time off, according to the Department of Investigation. Could Face 12 Years in Prison Mr. Dimino was charged with one count of Grand Larceny and two counts of Falsifying Business Records. If convicted on all charges, he could face up to 12 years in prison. DOI Commissioner Rose Gill Hearn said her office would vigorously pursue cases where employees falsify documents in order to receive time-off payments. "The city has zero tolerance for it," she said in a statement. "In fact, since June, DOI has arrested five city employees on similar charges." |
