Need Blood to Aid Ailing Detective

The Detectives Endowment Association is asking its members to donate blood platelets for a member who has developed multiple myeloma, a rare blood disorder, as a result of his work at the World Trade Center following the terrorist attacks.

Det. Ron Richards of the Bomb Squad is desperately in need of blood platelets. He is experiencing advanced kidney failure, and is being treated at Memorial Sloan Kettering.
