Clarification
Last week's story on Child Protective Specialist jobs in the Administration for Children's Services stated that there was no written test for the position, based on a notice from the Administration for Children's Services that candidates would be hired based on education and experience.

Faye Moore, president of Local 371 of District Council 37, which represents the title, responded that a written exam for the title was held as recently as June 14. She noted that although DCAS is seeking to have Child Protective Specialist moved from the Competitive to the Noncompetitive Class, which would allow jobs to be filled without competitive testing in the future, that change has not yet been approved by the state Department of Civil Service and is being opposed by the union.
