Apprentice Carpenter Jobs to Open July 1

The Empire State Carpenters Apprenticeship Committee is looking to hire five apprentices and will be accepting applications from July 1 until June 30, 2009.

Applicants must be at least 17 years old, have a high school diploma or equivalent, be residents of Nassau or Suffolk County for at least six months and have their own transportation.

They must be physically able to do the required work and pass a drug test. If accepted, they must agree to join the union and sign and comply with an indenture agreement. Women and minorities are encouraged to apply.

Applications will be available in person only, Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., at 270 Motor Parkway, Hauppauge, New York.
