TWU's Bali Roger To the Editor: A question for members of TWU Local 100: Do you have "sucker" written on your forehead? If you've been voluntarily paying your dues since the union lost dues check-off, you had better look in the mirror to make sure. According to the Dec. 28 issue of The Chief, earlier in December (winter here in NYC) our local president, Roger Toussaint, was in Bali, Indonesia (near the equator, clear on the other side of the world). Local 100 says Roger was there "at the request of" TWU International President James Little. Local 100 members know from painful experience that Roger does not know how to negotiate a contract or lead a strike, but it turns out he knows enough about global warming to justify taking a junket to discuss the subject. I for one will not pay my dues until there is a wholesale housecleaning of Local 100 leadership. Yes, Save Our Union: drive Roger out.
