MCU Offering $60G In College Scholarships

The Municipal Credit Union is offering scholarships worth $60,000 to 52 graduating high school students.

To be eligible, those seniors must either be MCU members or the child or grandchild of a member in good standing. Two of the scholarships, named in memory of former board members Charles Faulding and Julian I. Garfield, are for $5,000 apiece, while the remaining 60 are each for $1,000.

Applicants will be judged on academic performance, extracurricular and community activities, and their response to an essay question about their personal goals.
