In fact, in many of the San Francisco Muni city buses and most city buses in Paris and other major cities around the world, the bus operator has the option of pulling a plexiglass shield over to protect him or her from a possible assault. To the Editor: Governor Paterson may have been justified in criticizing the state commission that recommends candidates for Chief Judge on the NYS Court of Appeals to replace retiring Chief Judge Judith Kaye.
