Communications Workers of America Local 1182 President James Huntley receives the Civil Service Merit Council's Labor Leadership Award Nov. 10 from Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly for his efforts in persuading the state to finally approve a bill making assaults on Traffic Enforcement Agents felonies. The Merit Council also honored City Comptroller William C. Thompson Jr. for trying to speed the process by which city trades workers receive pay hikes that keep salaries consistent with the compensation for equivalent private-sector employees.
