Honor FDNY Post-9/11 Dead
      To the Editor: I applaud the leadership of NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly in honoring and respecting the memories of his officers who died as a result of illnesses they developed due to their heroic work at the World Trade Center site post-9/11. I wish the leadership of the FDNY had the same style and courage.

Give FDNY Dead Their Due
      To the Editor: Your Oct. 24 editorial really points out how Fire Commissioner Nicholas Scoppetta needs to shape up and get on board with the FDNY unions and re-evaluate his mind-set with regard to granting line-of-duty death status to the firefighters who have already died and will continue to die from the murderous attack on 9/11.

      To the Editor: With respect to the term limits controversy, the issue is not if Mayor Bloomberg and members of the City Council have done a great job. The issue is simple and clear: why do many members of the City Council insist and persist in denying the public a third opportunity to vote on the Term Limits Law?

Obama Not The One
      To the Editor: Let me start by expressing my disappointment in your judgment in endorsing Sen. Barack Hussein Obama for President in the Oct. 31 edition of The Chief. For you to believe that Obama is the "best-suited" for this position is beyond my understanding of how you could possibly be so gullible.

Joe Didn't Make the Cut
      To the Editor: When I got The Chief Oct. 28, I happened to see your Plumber eligibles list on page 2. Of course, I expected the Ultimate All-Star Plumber, "Joe-the-Plumber," to be Numero Uno on the list. To my amazement, this blue-collar Renaissance Man, this plumber-turned-foreign-affairs-advisor-to-McCain, was not on the list.
