THE MEA TURNS 40:

Human Resources Administration First Deputy Commissioner Patricia A. Smith accepts the Managerial Employees Association Lifetime Achievement Award during the MEA's 40th anniversary dinner Oct. 23 at Grand Prospect Hall in Brooklyn. The MEA also honored Mayor Bloomberg, with Labor Relations Commissioner James F. Hanley accepting on his behalf; Deputy Environmental Protection Commissioner Douglas Greeley, and two of its key figures, co-founder Thomas E. Diana and former President Georgia Williams. The organization serves in an advocacy role for municipal managers.
