A Gross Oversimplification

To the Editor:

The Chief should advise Paul D. Mannix that, regardless of the merits or lack thereof of his dispute with the Justice Department, none of its readers are stupid or racist enough to believe that the cause of the world financial crises "is simple — the Federal Government pressured institutions to lower standards so as to benefit certain groups of people."
