A Corrupt Power-Grab

To the Editor:

The City Council's 29-22 vote to extend term limits may seem like a victory for the Mayor and other (formerly term-limited) members of the City Council, but it might be the end of the line for some. We voters who supported term limits — with only two terms — in two referendums (the democratic way) will do everything we can to end the political careers of those who voted to override the will of the majority.

This is just the beginning of this fight, and many of us won't support any politician who won't publicly condemn those elected officials who participated in this outrageous, morally corrupt power-grab.

They have truly exemplified the meaning of "conflict of interest" by their actions.
