RELIVING A DARK MOMENT:

Fire Department officials laid a wreath Oct. 17 for the 42nd anniversary of the 23rd St. fire of 1966, in which 12 firefighters were killed responding to a blaze at the Wonder Drug Store at the intersection with Broadway. Until 9/11, it was the largest loss of FDNY-member life in the line of duty.
