Cheatham's call (Sept. 26 issue) for naming The Tombs in memory of Ben Ward, it's my feeling that any Correction Department facility renaming should be done in the honor of members of the Correction Department who made the supreme sacrifice. Now is the time for District Council 37 and the city to get our contract done with similar terms. The city should not be stingy with DC 37 and offer the same terms. Let's get it done now. More ... You referred to the Tech Guild's election committee of 1998 as "hand-picked by Mr. Albano." In fact, I did not control who became members of this committee. More ...
