Unite Against TWU Leaders

To the Editor:

A recent interview I did with a reporter from your newspaper named Ari Paul discussed the upcoming Transport Workers Union rally I have organized, but the article in your Sept. 12 issue covered some totally different topics.

Evidently there was some miscommunication between Mr. Paul and myself and I was mistakenly portrayed as an anti-union dissident. I am not anti-union — I am against the current TWU Local 100 administration, and there's a difference.

I would like to make one thing perfectly clear: the members who are not paying dues are not anti-union but against the current administration. I will defend every single member of this union with the same diligence regardless of their dues-paying status. My whole agenda is about uniting this union, and I will never align myself with anyone who advocates separation among the rank and file. Separation only helps this current administration's agenda. We all must stand together if we're going to change anything.
