To the Editor: It came as no surprise that the threatening agenda to silence critics goes beyond Transport Workers Union Local 100's active rank and file and elected officers, as the union's leadership arrogantly targets retirees as well. More ... To the Editor: Political foolishness is to be expected in any labor union, and Teamsters Local 237 is no exception. But the silly letter of Local 237 member Dexter Lino in the Sept. 12 issue of The Chief takes the cake. Mr. Lino was a 2004 candidate for office in our union, and received a resounding 6 percent of the vote. More ... To the Editor: Recently the extreme right, including its new cheerleader with sharp spurs, Sarah Palin, has mocked Barack Obama's credentials as a community organizer.
