Correction Emeralds' Dinner-Dance Oct. 3

The Emerald Society of the Department of Correction is holding its annual scholarship dinner-dance Oct. 3 and will honor Warden Michael Hourihane as the 2008 "Irishman of the Year."

Other awards will go to Warden Robert Shaw, Civilian Supervisor Thomas Burke, and Correction Captains Association President Ronald Whitfield. Scholarship will go to Daniel Morris, the son of Correction Officer Steve Morris, and Thomas Sigga, the son of Correction Officer Tara Lynch.

The event begins at 7:30 at Leonard's of Great Neck. Tickets are $80 per person and $800 for a table of 10.
