Seabrook Easily Wins 4th Term As Head Of Correction Officers

Correction Officers Benevolent Association President Norman Seabrook was re-elected to a fourth consecutive term June 18, garnering 2,452 votes, or 68 percent of the 3,618 ballots cast.

Mr. Seabrook said in a statement, "Moving forward, the COBA executive board and I will continue to diligently represent the best Correction Officers in the world."

Second-time challenger Darryl Bryant improved his standing from the previous election, winning 614 votes, with 455 ballots cast for Kevin Jenkins. Patricia Patterson got 87 votes and Joseph Morris Jr. had 10.

Mr. Seabrook, who was first elected in 1995, is the senior uniformed union leader.

All COBA's executive board members were re-elected. They are: Elias Husamudeen, treasurer; Israel Rexach, first vice president; Joe Bracco, second VP; Liz Castro, third VP; Chandra Lasonde, financial secretary; Allen Blake, corresponding secretary; Thomas Farrell, legislative chairman; Steve Robinson, Sergeant At Arms; and Karen Belfield, recording secretary.
