THE CHIEF-LEADER welcomes letters from its readers for publication. He Loves to Hate 'im
I nearly fell down laughing after reading William McKechnie's boast in his latest letter to The Chief (June 20 issue) that he would rather "read the letters to the editor than write them." Come on, Mr. McKechnie, you know there is nothing better than firing up the old laptop and sending off an anti-Mike Gorman diatribe to The Chief after wrestling the Florida crocodile on your front lawn. With all seriousness, Mr. McKechnie, you are crying "wolf" too often when it comes to Mike Gorman. In a letter published in The Chief on May 30, you brazenly contradicted your statement quoted in the first paragraph by writing a letter that had no content other than to note the absence of a Mike Gorman letter in the prior issue. In the June 13 issue of The Chief, you called me "infantile" and questioned my intelligence because I pointed this out. Perhaps you should look in the mirror, Mr. McKechnie. You rely on Mike Gorman like Linus of "Peanuts" fame relied on his security blanket. Without Gorman's letters, it appears that you have nothing else to write about. Mr. McKechnie, why don't you prove me wrong? You have extensive experience as a labor leader that can be shared with readers of The Chief. I look forward to reading a letter from you that has some informative substance to it. PAUL J. GALLAGHER Editor's note: The writer is an attorney with the Police Department. |
