Council Hearing on Job Reclassification

The City Council's Civil Service and Labor Committee will be holding a hearing at 1 p.m. on June 11 to discuss the Department of Citywide Administrative Service's plan to reduce provisional employees.

Several labor leaders have spoken out against the plan, saying that its proposal to broadband titles and move some titles to the Non-Competitive Class would threaten the civil service, although DCAS has argued that the moves are necessary to reduce provisionals and increase the number of civil service exams throughout the year.

The session will talk place in the hearing room at 250 Broadway in Manhattan on the 14th floor.
