His main contention is that recruitment fliers in 2008 are often a farce. I am sure he is right. More ... To the Editor: Through two difficult contract negotiations, Basil Paterson, labor paladin and father of our new Governor, armored Transport Workers Union Local 100's cause against powerful opponents, and steadied the hand of inexperienced leadership through perilous times. To the Editor: I wish to alert readers of The Chief to a vicious attack on the Federation of Puerto Rican Teachers (FMPR), a public-service workers union. All public-worker unions need to respond and show solidarity with this union that is under attack by the Puerto Rican government. They decertified the union and forced them to strike. More ...
