Now that the election for Local 372's School Aide chapter chairperson is over, I must address some of the major issues that resulted from the election. More ... To the Editor: Although I am a member of District Council 37, Local 371, I am really not in favor of a relaxed residency rule. I firmly believe that if Lillian Roberts wants us to be able to move to these areas, she needs to negotiate a better pay increase for us. More ... To the Editor: My last letter had impeccable timing because as I stated and Firefighter John Coombs, President of the FDNY Vulcan Society, confirmed in his Feb. 15 letter, if you are a white male and have an opinion, other than that of the Vulcan Society, you are a racist and a bigot. More ... To the Editor: The Teachers' union argues that it is not liable under the Americans With Disabilities Act for the discriminatory practices of the employer. The United Federation of Teachers argues that there is no evidence that it has animosity toward people with disabilities. More ... To the Editor: In the past few days Hillary Clinton has praised John McCain as being the only candidate besides herself with true presidential stature and experience in the race. She apparently dislikes or fears Barack Obama so much that she would rather see McCain as president than her own party's choice - if it's not her. More ... |
