Ex-PAA is Given Jail Time in Scam

A Police Administrative Aide was sentenced to Federal prison Feb. 15 for defrauding a rent assistance program.

Darlean Marcucilli was sentenced to 13 months in prison after being convicted in September of filing falsified documents with the state Division of Housing and Community Renewal saying she was eligible for $37,000 in Section Eight vouchers.

Ms. Marcucilli was found to have lied about her income and hidden the fact that her husband was receiving Section Eight assistance and brought in extra income.

The U.S. Attorney's Office also said that Ms. Marcucilli used $20,000 of her husband's Section Eight aid to pay for items she bought from QVC and the Home Shopping Network.
