Bernie Fishing for Suckers

A defense fund has been set up to help Bernie Kerik cover the legal bills from his Federal indictment for misusing his office in every way he could. The fund's Web site states, however, that while the money raised is intended "to defray legal expenses ... any contribution you make to the trust will be treated as a gift to Mr. Kerik to be used at his discretion."

Considering that he stiffed the law firm that handled his previous criminal case for more than $200,000, only a chump - or someone who previously profited from Bernie's flexibility when it comes to his oath of office - would regard a contribution as anything other than money to keep him living in the style to which he has become accustomed.
