Tech Guild VP Named to Group On Environment

Civil Service Technical Guild First Vice President Jon Forster has been named to the New York City chapter of the Apollo Alliance Steering Committee, a national partnership between labor and environmental groups.

Mr. Forster, whose union is Local 375 of District Council 37, said in a statement, "Because our members are involved in almost every major infrastructure project in the city, and in many major building projects in agencies such as the School Construction Authority, the New York City Housing Authority and New York City Transit, we are in a unique position to help integrate green standards with future design and construction."

He also called on DC 37 to create a committee "to begin to address environmental issues from a labor perspective."

The city chapter of the Apollo Alliance is headed by AFL-CIO New York City Central Labor Council Executive Director Ed Ott.
