A FOND FAREWELL:

Charles D. DeRienzo, the NYPD's Deputy Commissioner for training, was greeted by well-wishers from the department as he exited the Police Academy in Gramercy Park one last time July 2. Mr. DeRienzo, who was accompanied by his wife Mary Ann, joined the NYPD in 1965.
