CLC Counseling on Immigration Issues Offered

BY MEREDITH KOLODNER

Free legal advice on immigration issues is now available every Wednesday evening courtesy of the AFL-CIO New York City Central Labor Council and the Citizen Immigration Project of the City University of New York.

You do not need to be a union member or a CUNY student to receive the confidential assistance. The attorneys can give advice on a range of issues, including naturalization, relative petitions, adjustment of status, asylum and refugee issues, and citizenship applications. Consultations, representation in removal proceedings, referrals, and free pictures for applications that require them are also available. Non-English speakers need to bring an interpreter with them.

For an appointment with an attorney between 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on the first and third Wednesdays of the month, call Alex Henderson (212) 827-0200 at the Murphy Institute for Worker Education and Labor Studies. For an appointment with an attorney between 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month, call Bruno Soto at (212) 604-9552 ext. 232 at the CLC.
