Rubenstein (right), the veteran public relations executive who has made a career
of digging clients out of holes, got an engraved shovel from Uniformed
Sanitationmen's Association President Harry Nespoli citing 'his four decades of
service' to the union's membership. Mr. Rubenstein took on the union as a client
in 1968 following a phone call from its then-president, John DeLury, who at the
time was in jail for leading a strike.
