Federal CO Found Guilty of Rape

A Federal Corrections Officer has been found guilty of forcing an inmate to perform a sexual act on him at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan.

On May 3, 2005, J.C. Green ordered a female inmate to clean the suicide watch section of the female housing unit, then closed and locked the door to the area and forced her to perform oral sex, authorities said.

Mr. Green denied anything happened, but the evidence at the trial included DNA from semen on the inmate's clothing which matched Mr. Green's. Under Federal law, it is illegal for a corrections officer to engage in a sexual act with an inmate, even if the contact is consensual.

Mr. Green, a 17-year veteran officer, has also been indicted on a second-degree charge of lying to the FBI concerning the incident. He faces a maximum of one year in prison.
