Haynes Retains Int'l VP Post

By MEREDITH KOLODNER

International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 237 President Carl Haynes has been re-elected as an international vice president as part of IBT President James P. Hoffa's slate.

Mr. Haynes received the second-highest tally, 168,216 votes, among the 15 candidates who ran for the position of at-large vice president. The top 7 vote-getters, all part of the Hoffa ticket, will be sworn for a five-year term on March 18.

Eunice Rodriguez, who ran unsuccessfully in 2004 against Mr. Haynes in Local 237's election for president, was a candidate for international vice president as part of challenger Tom Leedham's slate. Ms. Rodriguez finished 10th in the field with 87,761 votes. In the 2004 Local 237 presidential race, Ms. Rodriguez lost the contentious election by 470 votes out of just over 10,000 cast.
