KEEP DUES COMING

To the Editor:

Keep Dues Coming

To the Editor:

Congratulations to John McCarthy (Oct. 26 letter) for embarrassing himself in honor of TWU Local 100 President Roger Toussaint. He will now be allowed to remain on release time to represent members while every elected officer in his division who opposed "corporate Roger" is being denied release time.

TWU has spent years organizing with the public to keep the fare down, booths open and to prevent the expansion of one-man train operation. All this organization's strength is now lost as both Roger Toussaint and Ed Watt have gone over to the other side.

Ever since Roger was given his gag order from the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, he has nothing to say against the MTA except for a few joint statements. Isn't it funny - the great labor leader's now issuing joint statements.

How quiet has Ed Watt been on the fare increase? He is a non-voting member of the MTA Board, but has absolutely nothing to say. I feel sorry for all the members of TWU. How could anyone have predicted that the leadership of TWU would switch sides and become MTA puppets?

My fellow members, don't despair - hope is coming. Pay your dues. Your vote will count. We must show this leadership the door. Toussaint is truly the T in MTA.

THOMAS CREEGAN, Chairman, Power Distribution, TWU Local 100
