THE CHIEF-LEADER welcomes letters from its readers for publication. RUDY/BILL UNLIKELY Rudy/Bill Unlikely To the Editor: Candidate Rudy Giuliani now says that his relationship with William Bratton - the Police Commissioner he unceremoniously dumped in the midst of Bratton's great success - was extraordinarily productive. If elected president, Rudy hinted that he would consider Bratton for an important Federal position. Machiavellian deception, treachery and cynical strategies that would probably impress even the notorious Borgia family are the rules and codes that Rudy lives by. Of course, a new Giuliani-Bratton relationship would never work, mostly because Bratton would outshine Rudy on the Federal stage just as he did on the local stage. Bratton is a "people person" and a leader who believes in praising and rewarding his workers, while Rudy is an insecure and selfish schemer who demands all the credit and glory for himself. Bratton wants to be liked by others. Giuliani enjoys making enemies. Rudy certainly would dump Bratton again - more likely sooner than later. Bratton is too smart to ever work for the tyrannical Giuliani again. Of course, I wouldn't put it past Rudy to pardon Bernie Kerik and then bring his old (former criminal) buddy to Washington D.C.!
