To the Editor: After reading the letter to the editor from Al Regenhard and Family about Rudy Giuliani in the Aug. 10 edition of THE CHIEF, I write to echo the appreciation of reporter Ari Paul's coverage of the news conference at the headquarters of the Uniformed Fire Officers Association last month. More ... To the Editor: Rudy Giuliani is running for President on a 9/11 platform of failure. My letter (July 27 issue) was in response to Rudy's lies on his Web site. I met with Father Brian Jordan (Aug. 17 letter) in his residence on Aug. 2, where he told me I was not an angry man, but merely dedicated to exposing Giuliani's failures before, during and after 9/11. More ... To the Editor: Father Jordan is being used as a front man for Mr. Giuliani. He is being used as a pawn in order to stifle any unkind press for his benefactor. Mr. Giuliani's inability to fill positions in his administration with qualified personnel makes his leadership capabilities suspect. More ... To the Editor: Candidate Rudy Giuliani now says that his relationship with William Bratton - the Police Commissioner he unceremoniously dumped in the midst of Bratton's great success - was extraordinarily productive. If elected president, Rudy hinted that he would consider Bratton for an important Federal position. More ... To the Editor: I applaud the state Court of Appeals decision upholding the civil service laws of New York State. The fact that a person served for an interminable length of time in a Competitive Class position for which she had failed the test doesn't give her a right to the position. More ...
