      The New York State Police is accepting applications for an exam leading to Trooper jobs. The deadline to apply is Dec. 1 at midnight. The test will be held Jan. 19 and 26, and Feb. 2 and 9. The starting salary is $50,347, which rises to $61,358 upon graduation from the Academy.
