Truth About Rudy

To the Editor:

I want to thank you for your excellent coverage of the issues raised by the families of the lost in the IAFF video (July 20 issue). This video finally speaks the truth about Rudy Giuliani and his betrayal of trust of this city and its firefighters and civilians before, during and after 9/11/01.

As parents of a probationary city Firefighter who met a brutal and unnecessary death at the WTC (one of 17 Probies lost that dreadful day), we truly appreciate the opportunity to speak truth to power and to help dispel the "big lies" of the Giuliani campaign. I and the other FDNY family members were proud to be part of this truth-telling video in memory of our lost sons and brothers.

For the past six years our families have continuously tried, but were unable to gain a national audience to tell the truth about 9/11 and what factors led to the unnecessary deaths of so many on that day of infamy. Giuliani is no "hero" and should not be allowed to carve a path to the White House over the dead bodies of the victims of 9/11. Thank you for having the guts to show that there is another side to the myth of Rudy Giuliani.
