THE CHIEF-LEADER welcomes letters from its readers for publication. KELLER AND FORD
To the Editor:
Keller and Ford To the
Editor: But what I can say is that I've never detected the slightest hint of any racism or other prejudice on her part. Every time I've had any dealing or contact with her I've been impressed by her sincerity and dedication to her members. In regards to the issue of quoting Henry Ford: Yes, I too am well aware of his troubling politics and anti-Semitism, and have my very own copy of his "The International Jew." But it's critical to note that the vast majority of Americans are NOT taught this aspect of his past. Mr. Ford's carefully constructed public history focuses on his promotion and advances of the early auto industry. Further casual research would show that he's often thought of fairly highly as he, by the standards of that time, paid his workers a "living wage" that was a great deal higher than the norm. It's only when you get past the surface and dig deeper that you need to hold your nose.
