Public Employment Relations Board Director Richard Curreri has the power to select arbitrators, but only the agency's board has the legal authority to rule on appeals to those selections, according to acting PERB chairman Jerome Lefkowitz. His comment in a March 2 story indicating that Mr. Curreri "has no authority to act" was specifically referring to his ability to decide appeals.
