MCU Has College Scholarships Open

The Municipal Credit Union is offering local high school seniors who are children or grandchildren of its members a chance to win college scholarships of $1,000 and $5,000.

Those interested must submit applications, including an essay question regarding their personal goals, by Jan. 29. Selections for the two $5,000 scholarships and 50 $1,000 scholarships will be made based on those essays combined with academic performance, extracurricular and community work, and references.

"We're thrilled to help these deserving students get closer to their dream of a college education," said MCU President William Porter.
