Runoff Elections For Tech Guild Officers

By RICHARD STEIER

Civil Service Technical Guild President Claude Fort faces a runoff for re-election after he defeated his leading challenger, Mitch Feder, by 429 votes but could not win a majority in the four-person race.

In addition to the 1,148 votes for Mr. Fort and 719 for Mr. Feder, Behrouz Fathi got 454, with 59 going to Jean-Robert Fite-Aime.

Others Undecided

Runoffs will also be needed in most of the other officer contests at the always-contentious union, which is Local 375 of District Council 37. First Vice President Jon Forster will go against Uma Kutwal, a former Tech Guild president who ran on Mr. Feder's slate, and Second Vice President Michelle Keller-Ng will face off against Stacey Moriates.

Secretary Ahmed Shakir will be opposed by George L. Darnes Sr. from Mr. Feder's slate, while the Fort slate's candidate for treasurer, Thomas M. Constantine, will go against Larry Hendel.

Runoff ballots are expected to be mailed in early January, returnable before the end of the month.
