NYPD Promotions Include 130 Dets.

Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly named a new Assistant Chief and two Deputy Inspectors among 200 uniformed upgrades - including 52 Sergeants and 130 Detectives - and multiple civilian promotions in a morning ceremony held at 1 Police Plaza Nov. 30.

Assistant Chief William J. Crawley began his career in 1968 on patrol in the 47th Precinct in The Bronx. He most recently served as the commanding officer of the Internal Affairs Bureau Support Services.

New Inspectors

The new Inspectors are Salvatore M. Comodo and John Moore. Robert S. Martinez was designated Director of the Fleet Services Division and Walter A. Romanowski was advanced to Director of Operations and Communications.

The five new Deputy Inspectors are: James J. Alles, Scott A. Shanley, Krystel A. Johnson, Susan Bick, and Brian J. Burke.

Marvin Kenner and Richard J. Clarke were named Lieutenant Commander - Detective Squad. The following were promoted to Lieutenant Special Assignment: Peter G. Thomann, Mark N. Moodie, James J. Flood, Dennis E. Gannon, Carlos J. Ocasio, Michael A. Brill, and Christopher M. Flood.

Sergeant Upgrades

The six new Sergeant Supervisors - Detective Squad are: John A. McCormack, John H. McArdle, Frank Ventura, Michael J. Gerard, Clive J. Caplan, and Felecia M. Smith. Jeannette Albanese and Thomas J. Ditrano were advanced to Sergeant - Special Assignment.

Mr. Kelly also promoted multiple civilian titles, including a group of new Traffic Enforcement Agents and School Safety Agents.
