With family members of Sanitation Supervisor Ronald F. DiCarlo looking on, Sanitation Commissioner John J. Doherty (left) renames the department's training academy at Floyd Bennett Field in his memory Nov. 2. Mr. DiCarlo, a 24-year veteran of the agency who retired as a training instructor, suffered a brain aneurysm on his way to his retirement party in 2003 and died a few days later.
