TWU's Toussaint Addresses PEF

Transport Workers' Union Local 100 President Roger Toussaint and American Federation of Teachers Executive Vice President Antonia Cortese were among the scheduled guest speakers at the Public Employees' Federation's annual convention Oct. 16 through 18. The gathering, which was held at the Lake Placid Olympic Center, featured phone banks to allow participants to begin lining up support for candidates backed by the union in the upcoming state and national elections.

Workshops were slated to deal with health and safety issues and performance evaluations, and the union's agenda for the coming year was supposed to be drafted.
