CORRECTION

A story in last week's issue of this newspaper incorrectly stated, based on information provided by union officials, that city Fire Protection Inspectors were on the verge of receiving their own bargaining certificate.

The Office of Collective Bargaining, whose Board of Certification issues such certificates, has not made a decision on the application for such status by the Civil Service Technical Guild, which is Local 375 of District Council 37, on behalf of Fire Protection Inspectors and Associate Fire Protection Inspectors.

OCB stated that a decision is not imminent, and this application is one of several concerning titles covered by City Council legislation that is being challenged in court by the Bloomberg administration.

The Board of Certification may require additional conferences or hearings before it reviews all the evidence submitted by the interested parties and renders a final determination.
