Credit All DC 37's

 

To the Editor:

I feel that United Federation of Teachers President Randi Weingarten is taking too much credit for the new District Council 37 contract. While, at times, I have been a critic of many things DC 37 does, this contract is one of the most positive things that DC 37 has done lately.

I feel the contract would have been settled whether the coalition was formed or not. Already members of the coalition are accepting the same terms that were obtained by DC 37.

For this contract, DC 37 has done a good thing, and they did it on their own. I am voting for this contract and I feel that a high percentage of our members will, too. I think the city may have given too much in the last year of the contract in its quest to set a pattern.
