Employees Must File Disclosure Form by August

Employees who are required to file financial disclosure reports must do it electronically this year under a 2003 law that phased out the use of paper disclosure forms.

The Conflicts of Interest Board has worked with the Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications and the Department of Investigation to develop a secure, user-friendly electronic filing system that will feature state-of-the-art security technology.

Any Internet PC Okay

Filers will be able to complete and transmit the reports using any personal computer or office computer that has access to the Internet. Instructions and defined terms for each question on the forms are built into pull-down screens.

Filing began the end of June and will conclude on three different Fridays in August, depending on what agency an employee works for. Those in mayoral agencies must file no later than Aug. 4; those in the Department of Education and the Housing Authority have until Aug. 11, and employees at the Health and Hospitals Corporation have a deadline of Aug. 18.
