Sanitation Agent Filing Is Open Until July 11

The Department of Citywide Administrative Services is accepting applications for an exam leading to Sanitation Enforcement Agent jobs.

Applications must be submitted by July 11. The starting salary is $24,447. The multiple-choice test is set for Nov. 18.

To qualify, by the date of appointment candidates must have a high school diploma or GED. Appointees must also have a valid New York State driver's license.

What Test Covers

The multiple-choice exam will test candidates' abilities to remember new information, understand the proper order for completing specific tasks, and comprehend and communicate written information. The exam will also gauge candidates' aptitude for recognizing the existence of a problem, answering basic arithmetic questions, and applying general rules to a specific problem. The passing score is 70 percent.

Sanitation Enforcement Agents enforce city and state traffic and health code laws. They inspect commercial and residential establishments, streets and sidewalks, and perform security duty at Department of Sanitation facilities.
